The 5 best Ideas for Spring in Vienna

Planning your next visit to Vienna? Maybe even this spring? Then you've chosen the perfect time. Vienna is beautiful all year round. But in spring it's just perfect. The flowers are blooming. The city is pleasantly warm, not too hot. And everyone is just waiting to finally go outside.

The perfect combination for a journey of discovery! But then comes the big question: What should I actually do in Vienna this spring? That's where I'm coming to your help! One idea is of course a guided tour of Vienna with me. But there is also a lot else to discover, whether alone, as a couple or in a group.

Here are my 5 tips for a spring day in Vienna:

Discover the splendor of Schönbrunn Palace Park:

The gardens of Schönbrunn: Perfect for a romantic walk

In spring the Schönbrunn Palace Park comes to life again. Spend a day strolling through the magnificent gardens, admiring the blooming flowers and enjoying the tranquility and beauty of this UNESCO World Heritage Site. The park is so big, you can spend the whole day exploring. Here you'll see: Vienna couldn't be more beautiful in spring!

And once you're done with the tranquility, you can also visit Schönbrunn Palace. The best way to do that of course is on a private guided tour with me!

By the way, you can also discover the Schönbrunner Gardens with me. On June 8th. Click here and come along!

Art, culture and relaxation in the Museumsquartier:

The Enzis (this year they're green) are waiting for you!

Immerse yourself in the fascinating world of art and culture in Vienna's Museum Quarter. Behind the impressive facade, an even more impressive interior awaits: the many courtyards of the Museum Quarter!

Visit one of the numerous contemporary art exhibitions or simply relax in the courtyard with a cool drink, like the Viennese do. The Museum Quarter is the perfect place to find inspiration and relax for a while.

Experience Vienna like a local. Stop by the Museum Quarter! By the way: This year the famous "Enzis" are in the color "Evergreen Tan-ja" - I'm looking forward to hearing what you tell us about your first Enzi experience. You can also find more information about the program on the Museumsquartier website.

A relaxing bike tour along the Danube:

View of Vienna with the Danube, the Danube Island, and the new Danube
The Danube is perfect for biking: Long and flat

Grab a bike and explore the banks of the Danube on two wheels. Enjoy the picturesque landscape along the river, stop at cozy cafes or enjoy a picnic in the countryside, all while being in the middle of the city. Cycling in Vienna in spring is a wonderful way to explore the city and its surroundings.

Cycling along the Danube has several advantages. You see Vienna from a completely different perspective. You are a lot more mobile. And you can really visit the many places along the Danube in one day. How about a stop at a wine tavern in Nussdorf, for example? There's nothing like a cool glass of wine on a sunny spring day. Or you cycle to the southern end of the Danube Island: it's so quiet here, you'll hardly believe you're still in the city!

By the way, there will be more discoveries on and on Vienna's water during my canoe tour on the Old Danube on June 4th. Come along!

A walk through the Prater:

Often overlooked by Viennese, but very much recommended: The Riesenrad

The Prater is almost schizophrenic: On the one hand, it's the Wurstelprater, a huge amusement park in the middle of the city that traditionally opens on May 1st with a big festival. On the other hand, it's the green Prater, a former hunting area that still gives the impression of an enchanted forest in the middle of the city.

With its wide avenues, majestic trees, and hidden places, the green Prater is simply enchanting. Stroll under the canopy of chestnut trees, breathe in the fresh air and enjoy nature. Take an afternoon and walk through the woods to the Lusthaus. Here, too, you will hardly believe that you are still in a city of millions of people.

When you're back in the vibrant city, don't forget to take a ride on the famous Ferris wheel and enjoy the breathtaking views over Vienna. Many Viennese have never done this. But once they're up there, they all say: "If only I had ridden the Riesenrad much sooner!" - So take advantage of the opportunity!

A picnic in the Volksgarten:

Did you recognize the picture at the beginning of the article? Anyone who has ever been on a city tour with me in Vienna might have already passed by here. Of course it's the Volksgarten! This popular green oasis is located in the middle of the city. Popular for lunch breaks, first dates, or a beer after work, a visit to the Volksgarten is one of the most Viennese experiences ever.

Grab a blanket, pack a basket of (fox) treats and spend a relaxing afternoon in the Volksgarten. Enjoy the warm spring sunshine, surrounded by fragrant flowers and the gentle sound of the park's fountain. A picnic in the Volksgarten is the perfect opportunity to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy nature. And when you've had enough peace and quiet, the city center is waiting right at the exit. Or you can stay in the garden and immerse yourself in Vienna's nightlife.

No city in the world offers so many opportunities in such a small area. You just have to love Vienna. Especially in spring! By the way, you can find all of my city tours under this link.

So, what are you waiting for? Pack your things and experience spring in Vienna! Book your unforgettable trip now and let yourself be enchanted by the beauty of this fascinating city. There is so much to discover – come and be a part of it!

Yours
